Bio
Becky Leigh is a Toronto-based singer songwriter and vocal coach that has been captivating audiences with her rich and mature vocals for over 10 years.
Back in 2018 she graduated with honours from Vanier College in Montreal in a 3-year post-secondary jazz voice program and was the recipient of Vanier’s prestigious Oliver Jones Scholarship. She then graduated from Humber College in the Bachelor of Music program, specializing in Voice. It was here that she won the Yamaha Music Ltd. Award in 2019, the Gordon and Anne Wragg Scholarship in 2020, as well as the JAZZ FM.91 bursary in 2022.
Since graduating, Becky has released her debut EP ‘Home’, an emotional collection of pieces that explore themes of love, loss, and joy through various instrumentation and soulful vocal harmonies. She has also been performing around the city of Toronto and surrounding areas as a solo act, as part of a folk trio by the name of Wild Bloom and singing lead vocals for the band Wanderer. She has had the opportunity to be a part of various festivals such as the Toronto Undergradute Jazz Festival, Gussapalooza, and Winterfolk and perform at many iconic venues in the city such as the Dakota Tavern and The Horseshoe. Outside of performing, Becky Leigh is also a private vocal coach.
In 2016, Becky's talent landed her a spot on Quebec's televised show "La Voix" (The Voice Canada) where she proudly reached 3 rounds of competition. At a young age, Becky also made it to the top 6 girls in YTV's "The Next Star".
She is currently working on an EP with Wild Bloom and continues to write and record.
